Nautilus
An Audio redesign of Nautilus, from Riot’s League of Legends.
This is an audio redesign of each of Nautilus’s abilities, including his passive, as well as his auto-attacks. I wanted to give his kit a real sense of weight and terror, and really show why his title is the “Titan of the Depths”.
Similar to my redesign of Azir, I wanted to make sure to communicate information to players with my sounds. For example, getting hooked by Nautilus’s Q could be dangerous for them, so I made sure to give it a noticeable travelling sound. In addition, if you do get hooked I want the sounds to communicate the potential doom it could spell to them, and gave his passive, which roots an enemy on auto-attack, more bass and -oomph- to it.
Ultimate abilities in League of Legends can also be very important in team fights and so having clear cues for them amidst all the other sounds can be very helpful. His ultimate ability triggers a submarine sonar sound when it locks onto an enemy, which is high pitched enough that it cuts through audio-clutter.
